| Rigid-Carb
The
Rigid-Carb filter is ideal for air supply or extract systems where
the air volume to be handled is considered low to medium (up to
1.7 m/s face velocity).

Construction:
The Rigid-Carb comprises of a plastic injection moulded casing manufactured
from re-cyclable polystyrol into which are fitted 8 replaceable
carbon cells in ‘vee’ formation. Each cell consisting
of a 25 mm deep bonded carbon ‘block’ sealed into a
disposable plastic frame. Various carbon types are available to
suit the application.
Applications:
The Rigid-Carb is suitable for the majority of applications where
the adsorption of medium to high concentrations of gaseous/odour
contaminants is required.
Installation:
Each Rigid-Carb has a 20mm header to enable use of simple cost effective
framework, providing ease of installation in standard front withdrawal,
reverse flow, or side access systems.
Size
range: The Rigid-Carb cartridge is 300mm deep, and available
in 3 standard face sizes. Due to the fact that the carbon is bonded,
installation can be in any ‘plane’, i.e. 490mm x 592
x 300mm, or 287mm x 592mm x 300mm.
The Rigid-Carb cartridge provides the following
benefits, when compared to a fully sealed steel case disposable
carbon pack:
• Considerably lighter construction.
• An overall depth of only 300mm.
• Requires the use of standard framework
systems, as opposed to ‘heavy duty base frames.
• Requiring replacement panels only,
the cost of filter replacement is considerably lower.
For
optimum installed life, Rigid-carb cartridges should be selected
with a pre-filter having a minimum filtration grade of G4 standard.
