Specialist Filters & Accessories
A number of applications exist where a different type of filter from those used in AHUs will be required either because of the type of unit into which the filter must fit or the nature of the contaminant that must be removed. Nationwide applies its expertise in the field of general air filtration to developing specialist products for its proprietary range as well as bespoke design and build for specific projects.
Grease Filters for Kitchen Extract Systems
A series of regulations governing the type of filters to be used in kitchen extract systems have appeared following several high-profile fires in buildings traced back to build up of grease and particulate matter in ductwork. The most important documents are: DW/172 HVCA Specification for Kitchen Ventilation Systems (replaces the previous DW/171) Guidance on the Control of Odour and Noise from Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Systems (DEFRA); and LPS 1263: Loss Prevention Standard Board Requirements for LPCB Approval and Listing of the Fire Performance of Kitchen Extract Systems.
Re-circulating Aircleaners
Not every building is equipped with a mechanical ventilation system, and not all mechanical ventilation systems are capable of dealing effectively with ‘hot spots’ of indoor air pollution. Re-circulating aircleaners were developed to fulfil this requirement, and in the case of the Aircare 2000 Series, the filter configuration can be altered to ensure that the most effective method of contaminant removal is achieved.
AHU Accessories & System Modifications
General maintenance of an AHU is essential to ensure that it performs its function of delivering conditioned air to occupied areas efficiently and effectively. Identifying a supplier for filter retaining clips, fan belts, fluid to top up manometers, or replacing damaged installation frames can take time – but all are available from Nationwide Filter Company. Nationwide can also undertake system modifications where required.
